Rabbis with Guns

Category: Religion and PoliticsPolycarp @ 7:59 pm

I can honestly see this spreading to other faith groups as well, especially in West Virginia. Shoot, we don’t need no stinkin’ trainin’. We’ll just shoot everyone.

What’s sad is there ARE people in this country to hate. Granted, we import, but we grow our own too.

  2. Fr. Robert says:

As far as the Jewish people and their Rabbis are concerned, they have seen hate, war and death. Their situation is very different, remember they are Old Covenant people, and their theology is ‘an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.’  Finally guns are also tools, in the right hands and right training, they save lives, as well as take it, etc. As one who lived and taught in Israel, I see this very different.

Too much hate in this country.

  4. Fr. Robert says:

Yes, hatred lives in a fallen, sinful world. I too have seen the hatred with the IRA, and right back with the English. And myself in Gulf War 1, etc. I am no pacifist myself!  We as Christians can only seek to live the Gospel of Christ in this broken, hateful world. There is no perfection in this life.

I didn’t mean TO hate. I meant WHO hate.

Trying to get the threaded comments set up

  7. Polycarp says:

Gentlemen, I’ve tried different things, but nothing seems to work, but I am still trying.

  8. Polycarp says:

Okay, Gentlemen, I would be happy if you guys would try to thread some comments

Haven’t laughed that hard since I last watched ‘Fawlty Towers’. Not.

Elsewhere on the net (NBCNY), it is reported that people thought it was a joke until May when the FBI arrested US born Muslim terrorists planning to blow up a synagogue in the Bronx.

  10. Fr. Robert says:

It is no joke in Israel, nor serious conservative Jews! They really feel threatened, and history (very close history) bears this out too.

It is a shame that this is true, indeed – and while I hope no Rabbi has to use the training, I wonder what would happen if then did.

  12. Polycarp says:

Or for the Christians in Islamic areas
