The Ardi Carnival from Jim Linville

Category: Other PostsPolycarp @ 10:20 pm

Jim Linville has posted a trip around the blogosphere concerning the new information releases on Ardi.

What motivated this post was my perusal of the TOP 50 Bibliobloggers list, since I’m now on it (!), and the discovery on that list of some other bloggers who have mentioned Ardi already. So here they are, Ardi according to some Bibliobloggers.

Jim, first, call me Joel.

Of course, I’d like to say that we will get all the nifty answers when we all make it to heaven…but…I’m pretty sure you have to first believe in heaven to be considered for the trip. Frankly, given all the new math, nifty scientific evidence, and ideas pulled from a hat which forms the complete implausibility of evolution, just not sure why one couldn’t just simply relax and believe that at some point, something had to create such a well ordered universe.

Oh, and Jim (x2), enjoy your last few days of number 1…

Is it just me? Or when I read this latest stuff from Jim West, it seems like a smart chick tract?
    Fr. R.

    always…

fred robert – like many – seems to spend a lot of time thinking about me. so i’m grateful. i just hope he doesn’t become an obsessed stalker (though he seems to be trending in that direction). still, i guess it’s all part of the price one pays for being #1 for seven months uninterrupted.

  3. Fr. Robert says:

Mr. West, you need to get a full time job! By the way, the real Christian pastorate is just that, full time, and not some game of satire! I regret making my rather clever remark, but it was true no the less.
    Fr. R.

Dr West does have two full time jobs – have you? He even blogs as well, just like your friend Joel.

      • Fr. Robert says:

You said the most important element here, my “friend Joel”! If Jim is your friend? That is your choice. Thank God we can still choose our friends! And myself besides a fulltime pastorate, as an ax bishop (though I am on personal leave at present) I also do hospital chaplain work ( I volunteer also, no pay here). I have been doing this too during my personal leave of absense. The pastor-teacher has really no complete time off.
        Fr. R.

Despite your deflection from the ‘most important element’ I think you got the ‘most important element’ of my comment. Of all people, you, apparently a man of the church, ought to be more careful and not throw false insinuations at someone else’s character. I wasn’t asking for an autobiography, just ‘yes’ or ‘no’ would have been sufficient. I’m glad you are so devoted to Joel. That’s sweet.

    • Polycarp says:

Steph, speaking of devotion, you sure do follow the good doctor around an awfully lot.

    • Fr. Robert says:

No deflection from me, I simply like the Christian character of the man Joel. And I do not hold the same for the place of Dr. West. I base this on sir West’s own blog work, simple! Are you sir West’s advance and also rear guard?

I am really myself somewhat an open book, every true pastor-teacher must be open and honest, though we ourselves are simply sinful men also.
      Fr. R.

      • steph says:

What an odd and snarky comment, ‘advance and rear guard.’ No – I read Joel’s blog too. He is also on my blog watch list. So is Jim Linville’s blog. Of course you deflected – from the fact that you wrongfully insinuated that another person doesn’t do his job.

        • Fr. Robert says:

No, that is ‘military parlance’, but you just love to argue and play the satire game. Not me bag really.

          • steph says:

I know that – it still makes a snarky comment. I don’t like arguing but I feel the need to point out libellous comments and you seem to like making them ;-)

          • Fr. Robert says:

            steph,
Who are you kidding? You love to argue, it is the nature of your verbiage! Libel? I have found that this is a joke on the blogs too often. Again the very nature so often is just satire on the blogs. At least Jim West’s. These are “my” thoughts at least.
            Fr. R.

          • steph says:

            what ever you say, Robert.
