C-Street, John Ensign, Uganda. Cult. Political Power. Bart Stupak?
On a lot of pro-choice blogs, news sites, they are attempting to connect Bart Stupak to C-Street’s Family. Over the summer, when the scandals with both Ensign and Sanford broke, so did the news of C-Street and The Family. Stupak was associated with it:
Stupak insists he’s not part of the group and has no connection with the scandals.
“I can tell you, I rent a room at C Street,” said Stupak. ”I sleep there and I spend probably from 6:00 in the morning until 10:00 or 11:00 at night at my job. I rent a room.”
Stupak did concede that he sometimes attended weekly dinners with the group.
As of July, current residents included Stupak, Rep. Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.), Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) and Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), and Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.). Sanford, when he was a Congressman from South Carolina was also a member.
Is this just sour grapes?
