J. Lee Grady Stepped Down from Charisma
To critics that ragged Grady for continuing his employment years after beginning the exposing and asking the hard questions?
Can you cheer now since in your mindset, Grady has now ‘crossed the (your) line’ from being a ‘hypocrite’ to ’seeing the light’?
That would be me. It’s taken me a while to get to this post, trying to pin down my views here. J. Lee Grady supported Todd Bentley, Sarah Palin and created such things as the Esther Anointing and Deborah Anointing. But, he started to wake up and started to take on the New Apostolic Reformation (here) and the abuses of the Charismatic system (here, here and here). And, well, my opinion of him grew tremendously.
And now? Well, now he has removed himself (if it was voluntary) from the pulpit in which he started to finally use to correct a few things. I had hoped that he would and then in doing so, really become a voice to squash the silliness and here heresies in those circles. Now? Now not so much. I was wrong, I reckon, and I wish he would have stayed a bit and took on more of the garbage.

Joel, Grady is staying on as a contributing editor. He is not leaving entirely.
and also, he is going to become editor of another magazine. Experience, something I have never heard of.

Good then. I think that he is in a position there to change a few things. Although he has been attacked by other Charismatics for his new stances, I think his voice is a good one for the moderation which is needed.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Strang Communications is a business and knows which side it’s bread is buttered on.
A contributing editor is a fancy title.
It’s a honourary title basically, if he is going off to work his denominational inhouse publication, that’ll keep him busy.
It’s a business decision, a writer is changing jobs.
I can appreciate the need to find a spiritual reason, but…
Who drew most of the readers to Charisma? Grady.
Who pulled in the outside interviews? Grady.
Who did his job as editorial foil? Grady.
The company closed down at least two of it’s publications earlier this year; and probably for a lot of reasons, could ill afford to completely get rid of him since he knows where a lot of the bodies are buried.
His denomination is big enough to see he gets a decent salary and he can carry on with his own ministry/organization. He’s taken a safe job, can’t fault him for that.
If advertisers have put pressure on Strang, this is a resonable compromise for the publisher, who has to be experiencing the downturn in the economy as much as any media company.

You guys are amazing. Interesting how “Bene Diction” seems to know all the details about my life! Just FYI, I am mainly leaving Charisma because my ministry travel is keeping my schedule too full. I was in 10 countries last year. My greatest passion is preaching the gospel. I have been traveling and doing Charisma for the past several years but recently the schedule has been more intense. This was not an easy decision but necessary. God bless you.

I wonder how many false teachers and false prophets J. Lee Grady has promoted over the ears to a public with “itching ears” who deny the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What ever happened to all of the Scriptures that teach us discernment to identify the wolves in sheep's clothing. We have literally thrown the Holy, God inspired Scriptures out the window and have replaced them with experiences outside the boundaries of God's Word and we hear about them Sunday mornings in church and read about them in J. Lee Grady's articles promoting heretics. And what I have seen and heard on Sunday mornings in church and read in these so called Christian magazines and books, is that the glory is given to man, and oh yes, God receives the glory after man is praised. The Bible clearly says that a great falling away from the faith will occur before the Second Coming of our LORD Jesus Christ and what man is doing is trying to create a revival based on the works of man, not the Holy Spirit. We teach the “Truth Project” in church and then rush off to the latest Benny Hinn concert, or Joyce Meyer extravaganza, or Joel Osteen feel good fest, and wonder why the spiritual state of our country is grossly in decline. And why is it, that those who point out the errors in these popular, beautiful peoples' theology are hated amongst the people in our churches? What about the “Truth Project” that you just promoted in church, do you not want to test what these people are teaching with the Scriptures as the Bereans did?
Why do you, J. Lee Grady promote these false teachers and preachers and then turn around and blame the people in the pews on your interview with Chuck Crismier on “Save America Ministries” stating, “As much as we'd like to point at the preachers who preach this message (prosperity gospel), I also have to say that the blame also lies with the people in the pews who stand up and cheer this, because it wouldn't be popular if there weren't huge, huge, audiences of people clamoring for this message. These people want an easy way out and they don't want to take the path of Biblical discipleship.” You stated this, J. Lee Grady, and what I want to know, is why you promote so many of these people who lead lives of the sin that God hates? I don't understand, because it seems like Charisma magazine is such a hypocritical oxymoron?
The Bible should be the final authority, not Charisma magazine, nor any other vain opinion of man.
I truly believe that this magazine is contributing to the great falling away of the masses, not bringing people to the true LORD Jesus Christ.
Who are we trying to fleece here……..Charisma has promoted so many of these questionable followers of Christ, who in essence, glorify themselves and their demonic experiences, and promote each other with all of their books selling “God”
