Facebook Fan Page for Joe Stack – Suicide Bomber

Really?Yeah, that’s right. Suicide Bomber. Look up the meaning if you disagree.

From here:

Stack goes on to condemn the federal bailout, writing, “Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours?”

Stack also takes a shot at the health care system, and the Washington stalemate that has hindered reform:

Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political “representatives” (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the “terrible health care problem”. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in.

What appears to be a right-wing Facebook group celebrating Stack already has 123 members. The site features the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag and the following description:

Finally an American man took a stand against our tyrannical government that no longer follows the constitution and is turned its back on its founding fathers and the beliefs this country was founded on.

Two people have been hospitalized, and one is unaccounted for. A hospital spokesperson says that one person was admitted with minor injuries and  smoke inhalation, while another is in serious condition and being treated for burns, reports the Statesman.com.

Read the rest of Stack’s note here

Why is this important? Because, an American who didn’t think that the political process could work decided to blow himself up and take others with him.

And others are now supporting him. I wonder how many of those ‘fans’ will decide to off themselves to show the Government something or another.

By the way, check out Christian’s take on this.

I joined and I reported it and left a rather nasty comment, I reckon. Said the group was akin to a fan page for child porn.

Polycarp, you may be a Christian but you also seem to be a mean spirited and unpleasant individual. My prayers are with you.

You mean because I speak the truth? Tell me, Scott, do you see this man as a martyr? And do you think that people should ‘rally to his cause’? Tell me, Scott, what about the man who would use a whip on people who were abusing the things of God?

Tell me, Scott, what do you base your viewpoint on? Have I error’d in the truth? No. I have spoken it, plainly.

Stack’s domestic terrorism is only the logical next step for unhinged teabagging Republicans.

You have just seen the first of what I fear will be more overt acts of terrorism by the American Christian Taliban.

I wish I saw that. Apparently Facebook deleted the group. They’ve since started another one. It’s kind of sick.

Indeed, Craig. I hope that everyone gets taken down. There is a difference in freedom of speech and calling for people to kill themselves, and possibly take others with them, for a political purpose.

Just for discussion – a suicide bomber does it to get 72 virgins, but Stack looks like an atheist from his rant. There is also a difference between someone whose finances have imploded and is still being harassed by the IRS and someone who grew up never knowing hope, or someone who grew up never knowing hardship – like the recent Nigerian bomber.

Looney, religious motivations doesn’t make a suicide bomber. The action does. Reading the letter, he urges a body count to get the politics to change. Further, since he took a device and tried to kill others as he took himself out, that officially makes him a suicide bomber. Just like 9/11 or the Kamikazes in WWII and the Palestinians in Israel.

There is nothing glorious about killing yourself and trying to take out innocents in the process to prove a point.

While the convictions may be different, the actions and the intent is the same.

OK, so I will agree that he was committing suicide, and he had used a plane as a bomb. But moving forward, which is more significant? The actions and intent? Or the convictions that brought about the actions and intent?

I would say the fact that he killed innocents purposely and is calling for more death negates any issues he has with a capitalistic government.

Did you see a reference to capitalism in his letter? My understanding is that the US isn’t a capitalist country.

    Actually, yes:

The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.
