While he has spent considerable amount of time defending his (various) views of orthodoxy, when it comes to Glenn Beck, well…. he’s a-okay.

Amazing that while reading in Ezekiel and Jeremiah about false prophets, it was about politics about the God which said prophet said that he spoke for. Russell Moore gets this and says this well:
A Mormon television star stands in front of the Lincoln Memorial and calls American Christians to revival. He assembles some evangelical celebrities to give testimonies, and then preaches a God and country revivalism that leaves the evangelicals cheering that they’ve heard the gospel, right there in the nation’s capital.
The news media pronounces him the new leader of America’s Christian conservative movement, and a flock of America’s Christian conservatives have no problem with that.
If you’d told me that ten years ago, I would have assumed it was from the pages of an evangelical apocalyptic novel about the end-times. But it’s not. It’s from this week’s headlines. And it is a scandal.
Now, what Bob will come back with is that any non-Trinitarian is just as bad except that this shows a remarkable ignorance of the divide between Christianity and Mormonism. Most non-Trinitarians hold Christ as God (I mean here oneness believers, no modern Arians), believe in salvation by Grace, and will generally differ with other Christians along the understanding of the nature of the Godhead, which starts first with the notion of developed doctrine. Mormonism… if you think is anything close to non-Trinitarianism…. you are ignorant of history and theology. Further, Mormonism’s Tri-theism (which Bob has admitted is preferable) is exactly what non-Trinitarians accuse, sometimes, Trinitarians of actually believing! Mormonism is about Joseph Smith, an almost Gnostic view of Heaven, and a completely created history.
Anyway, it amazes me that a man who supposedly defends the orthodox Christianity would readily bow to Mormonism.

I know… and anyone who thinks that the Trinity comes close to Mormonism is not much of a theologian. We can discuss the nature of the Godhead, East or West (I’m more West) but in the end, they are closer to each other than Mormonism every will be to Christianity

I feel that Beck is preparing the way for his fellow Mormon Mitt Romney to win the next Presidential election. If it’s a contest between an evangelical like Mike Huckabee and Mormon Mitt, I would bet my last dollar that Glenn Beck endorses the latter.
