Labeling religions and how it damages-Positive Solutions
A while a ago, there was a discussion on the use of ‘cult’ as applied to various religious groups and communities. This is a product of that discussion meant to engender future discussion. The following is a solicited article. The thoughts and opinions expressed may not necessarily be the thoughts and opinions of this blogger.

Just who is the Antichrist? A Guest Blogger Has the Answer
It’s Saturday, the baby is home, everyone is tired, and I like to laugh. We will return to our regularly scheduled attempts at substance tomorrow.
A few months ago the entire population of the world was rocked by the news that Jim West is the antichrist. Before it is too late (note, he has now taken to giving out Nobel Peace Prizes, a sure sign of the End Times), and Jim takes the top spot for the 8th month in a row, I am posting excerpts from a phone interview that was done with End-Time Correspondent Jeremy Thompson , whose research has soundly and empirically demonstrated the antichrist’s identity. In these sound bytes, Jeremy talks about some of the issues surrounding his recent announcement including his mixed feelings about identifying the antichrist, his expertise in End-Time Hebrew, his personal concerns about the Rapture, and his plans for a peer-reviewed academic journal for End-Time Research. There is even a heated response to those who would object to him asking for money.

Miracles or Magic?
There is increasing talk about the end of the world and 2012, but what did Christ say would be the greatest deception of the last days? According to Bible prophecy, false Messiahs, false prophets and false apostles arise as this age draws to a close. These political and religious leaders seduce the unwary with good words and polished speeches, and later work great miracles, signs and wonders to deceive multitudes worldwide. Spiritual deception will dramatically increase, eventually so convincing it will be difficult to resist.
Even today, faith healers and spiritual healers draw multitudes with promises of miracle healings and deliverance, and millions follow without understanding the dangers. We hear more and more about miracles and spiritual gifts, but how can we discern among real miracles of God, miracles, signs and wonders of the occult, and fake miracles via deceptions of men?
This book helps the average person discern genuine works of God from deception in the spiritual realm. It provides a sound Biblical, historical and scientific analysis of miracles for a uniquely comprehensive understanding of this controversial topic. A detailed Appendix is included with revealing views on speaking in tongues and miracle healings from key Christian leaders and denominations throughout church history. The book also offers practical advice to avoid spiritual deception.

Wycliffe: Bible Translation Statistics
This is part 1 of a 4-part series from Phil Prior of Wycliffe UK, a fine organization whose mission is to bring the word of God to everyone, in every language.
Last year, Wycliffe Bible Translators in the UK commissioned some research of young Christians (those in their 20s and early 30s). One comment sticks in my mind,
“I had worked on the naïve assumption that the Bible was available in every language”.

Prophet, Priest and King
The priesthood of Christ does not consist merely of an external legal transaction of sacrifice, a paying of the bill, so to speak, but also of a reconciliation accomplished in his person and maintained in his person. (Rom. 4:25) This is why life not death is the “essence” of the atonement, that by which sin is covered (Rom. 5:10). Though of course it was His perfect life given up in death that came first. Note in the text both are together, but the “much more” is “we shall be saved by his life.” The Levitical killing of an animal in sacrifice meant the fullest offering of its lifeblood. What was presented to God was not the death, but the life of the creature (Lev. 17:11). So the highest conception of offering death has no place. Had man never fallen it would still have been a duty to offer himself together with all he possessed to God in whom he lived, moved, and had his being. The effect of Christ’s priesthood, then, is to accomplish something within us, something that changes us and reconciles us from the inside out. And of course this is the work of the Holy Spirit as Paracletos (John 14: 26) in us.
