In southeast Asia, in the countries which are predominantly Muslim, Christians have come under recent attacks for using the word ‘Allah’ for God. Allah as a word for a god predates Islam and can be found among the Arabic Jewish and Christian writers of earlier times. Now, however, countries like Malaysia want to prevent Christians from using it.

No, I doubt it, unless of course you consider the origin of all false doctrine as a single solitary source, but as I was purusing the blogs on Alpha Inventions today, I came across a blog entitled ‘Koran Explained’, which the author had attempted to explain this verse:
|
Yusuf Ali:
|
The Evil one threatens you with poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly. God promiseth you His forgiveness and bounties. And God careth for all and He knoweth all things. |
|
Zohurul Hoque:
|
The Evil-one threatens you with poverty, and bids you to indecency; while Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and abundance. And Allah is ample-Giving, all-Knowing. |
|
T. J. Irving:
|
Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to misbehave sexually, while God promises you forgiveness from Himself as well as bounty. God is Boundless, Aware. |
|
T.U. Hilali-M. Khan:
|
Shaitân (Satan) threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit Fahshâ (evil deeds, illegal sexual intercourse, sins etc.); whereas Allâh promises you Forgiveness from Himself and Bounty, and Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower. |
|
M. Pickthall:
|
The devil promiseth you destitution and enjoineth on you lewdness. But Allah promiseth you forgiveness from Himself with bounty. Allah is All-Embracing, All-knowing. |
|
M.H. Shakir:
|
Shaitan threatens you with poverty and enjoins you to be niggardly, and Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and abundance; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing. |
The author of the aforementioned blog, writes,
Countless Muslims and Christians are facing poverty in our time. Their priests and mullahs tell them it’s ok to remain poor. But, there are two kinds of poverty: (1) Spiritual poverty, that is, ignorance of Allah and His Words; and (2) Financial poverty. The fact that they teach the poor to remain financially poor is lack of faith. If it was mere spiritual poverty they would have found the solution already: nearness to Allah through worship.
I may or may not be wrong here, but doesn’t that sound like something that Kenneth Copeland would say? Perhaps even Joel Osteen? Is poverty simply due to a lack of Faith?
Perhaps Islam has taught ‘Christianity’ a thing or two.

Dozens of young women braved crowds of bearded men screaming “dogs!” on Wednesday to protest an Afghan law that lets husbands demand sex from their wives. Some of the men picked up small stones and pelted the women.
“Slaves of the Christians!” chanted the 800 or so counter-demonstrators, a mix of men and women. A line of female police officers locked hands to keep the groups apart.
The warring protests highlight the explosive nature of the women’s rights debate in Afghanistan. Both sides are girding for battle over the legislation, which has sparked an international uproar since being quietly signed into law last month.
The law says a husband can demand sex with his wife every four days, unless she is ill or would be harmed by intercourse. It also regulates when and for what reasons a wife may leave her home without a male escort.

Twenty six year old Quratul Ain eloped from her house six months ago, marrying the person with whom she intended to spend her entire life with. However, her dreams fell short when she was shot thrice in the name of honour.
There is a bright spot, however, in that more Arabs and Muslims are taking a stand against these cold-blooded murders. This group, I hope, will catch on.

The Muslim religion makes unusually large claims for itself. All religions do this, of course, in that they claim to know and to be able to interpret the wishes of a supreme being. But Islam affirms itself as the last and final revelation of God’s word, the consummation of all the mere glimpses of the truth vouchsafed to all the foregoing faiths, available by way of the unimprovable, immaculate text of “the recitation,” or Quran.
If there sometimes seems to be something implicitly absolutist or even totalitarian in such a claim, it may result not from a fundamentalist reading of the holy book but from the religion itself. And it is the so-called mainstream Muslims, grouped in the Organization of the Islamic Conference, who are now demanding through the agency of the United Nations that Islam not only be allowed to make absolutist claims but that it also be officially shielded from any criticism of itself.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — The Malaysian government has softened an earlier ban on the use of the word “Allah” by Christian publications to refer to God and is allowing them to use it as long as they specify the material is not for Muslims, a church official said Thursday.
The government had earlier argued that the use of Allah in Christian texts might confuse Muslims, who might think Allah refers to their God.

A leading member of the House of Representatives is asking the FBI to explain why it did not notify Congress that it had cut ties with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as revealed by FOXNews.com last week. And several lawmakers are calling on their colleagues to “think twice” before meeting with the Islamic advocacy group, which the FBI considers a front for Islamic radicals.
Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf sent a letter to the FBI’s assistant director of counterterrorism on Monday, raising questions about CAIR in light of the FOX News report.
“Has the FBI severed ties with CAIR? If so, how is the FBI planning to formally notify members of Congress and other government officials of this decision?” read the Republican congressman’s letter, which pushed the bureau for word of its current connections with the group — and asked whether CAIR’s Washington-based lobbyists are receiving money from overseas.
