Prayer Warriors of the New Apostolic Reformation Getting Some Exposure

Category: Joel's ArmyPolycarp @ 11:59 am

Haven’t really covered this in a while, but here you go:

Yesterday Alternet published an article by Bill Berkowitz including an interview with me about the New Apostolic Reformation, or the “largest religious movement you never heard of.” Despite the growing political clout of its leadership, the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) continues to operate under the radar of the mainstream press as well as most progressive media. Hopefully this interview will prove to be another stepping stone in making the movement more recognizable to the public.

Hillsong Assemblies of God church coming to Mt Gravatt, Brisbane

Category: HillsongPolycarp @ 6:45 pm

The Dominionists stated goal for this year to overtake other congregations.

The Hillsong juggernaut has planned a victory party on May 1 to celebrate its arrival in Brisbane despite its takeover of a Pentecostal church south of the city not yet receiving the green light from congregants.

Registered members of the Garden City Christian Church in Mount Gravatt will on Sunday vote on whether to officially appoint evangelists and Hillsong founders Brian and Bobbie Houston as senior pastors in a move that would see the church renamed the Hillsong Brisbane Campus.

Despite claiming their pending footprint into Queensland was merely a partnership with the existing church, an information document circulated at Garden City at a service on April 5 has left little doubt about the Houstons’ intentions to change the face of the congregation.

Eschatology of Mick Bickle of IHOP, Part 1

Category: IHOP, Joel's Army, ProphecyPolycarp @ 2:01 pm

A commentator has asked for my own understanding on the eschatology proposed by Mike Bickle of the International House of Prayer. I will do this series in parts. The original can be found here. I have done minor editing for formatting purposes only.

A. Eschatological: means pertaining to the End Times
B. The coming eschatological revolution will be the most comprehensive revolution in human history and will involve the unique dynamics of the end of the age. This revolution will include Jesus coming back to earth to replace all the leadership on the earth that aligns with darkness.

  • The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15)
  • I saw the Beast (Antichrist), the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered to make war against Him (Jesus)…20 The Beast was captured, and with him the False Prophet…these two were cast alive into the lake of fire…21 The rest were killed with the sword…20:1 Then I saw an angel…2 He laid hold of…the Devil and bound him for 1000 years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit…4 I saw thrones, and they (the saints) sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus…and they lived and reigned with Christ for 1000 years… (Rev. 19:19-20:1-4)
  • He (Antichrist) shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High…27 Then the…greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. (Dan. 7:25-27)

There is no issue here except with the term ‘revolution.’ That term implies an active part on the Church, when in reality, it is not the Church, but Christ who is leading, not a revolution, but a complete and quick take-over.

C. The Church in the generation in which Jesus returns will actively participate in this revolution.

  • The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night…
  • Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
  • Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God… (2 Pet. 3:10-12)

I have previously spoken on this idea that we can hasten the Day of the Lord. (Here) To what level do we hasten the day? It is through the unity of the Faith, not secular action, or serving as an Army of the Lord (otherwise known to the Dominionist as ‘Joel’s Army.’) Again, Bickle uses the term ‘revolution’, which is not something in Scripture. When the Lord returns, it is do battle against the forces of the False Prophet, and He returns with the Church. In Revelation 19.11-16, we see that Christ, the Word of God, will return with the Armies of Heaven. These are not to be identified with Angels, because they carry with them the garments of the Saints. (Rev. 19.8)

While the Church will participate as the Army of the Lord, it will be from Heaven that they descend, not on Earth to ascend.

D. My premise: many people alive today will see this revolution in their lifetime. Thus, they are called by Jesus to actively participate in this revolution in a personal and dynamic way. Scripture outlines what is involved in preparing the Bride. She must be prepared in an intentional way.

  • For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. (Rev. 19:7)

While we may see the times of the End in our lifetime – so many others thought the same thing – we are always called to array the Church with fine linen, especially since we are commanded to grow into one new man (see above mentioned post). The thing that is always missing from Eschatology is the connection to the Jewish wedding motif. The Church is married to Christ, but not consumed. When Christ returns, we will then be a Bride. The Bride is made ready, in heaven.

E. We need to be focused on what to do now in practical ways to be prepared for this. This is our forerunner call to action. There are specific actions that must be taken now by forerunners. The next few decades will involve a unique preparation for a unique transition of human history.

This is not biblical in any way. John in the Spirit of Elijah was the forerunner of Jesus Christ, but no where do we have the permission to take up that mantle. Contrary to what Christ taught concerning that no man would know the day, and that the Day would come like a thief in the night, Bickle is attempting to give a timeline.

F. First, we must clearly see the “big picture” concerning this dramatic change to the earth. Next, we must understand what the role of the Church is in this coming eschatological revolution.

  • The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart (Great Tribulation). In the latter days you will understand it perfectly. (Jer. 23:20)

The Anger in the Lord’s Heart is not the Great Tribulation, but either the fall of Jerusalem, which was Jeremiah’s concern, or the time of Jacob’s Trouble. The Hebrew in this verse is literally ‘after the end of days,’ indicating that we will understand prophecy after the End has already come. (Which is a reason to spend so little time on such pursuits)

G. We must prepare ourselves to prepare others to prepare the nations for the greatest transition in history. In the time of this coming storm, being prepared is all about loving Jesus and people.

  • The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God…
  • The glory of the LORD shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together (at Jesus’ Second Coming)… (Isa. 40:3-5)
  • By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household… (Heb. 11:7)

Again, the Church has been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ – which is what matters – for 2000 years (or near about), but with never the idea that she is the forerunner of Christ. The passage from Isaiah is applied to John, not to be reapplied to the Church. Concerning the Ark, the Church is the Ark, and has already been prepared for us by the blood of Christ and founded up His Apostles.

H. Important to Jesus’ End-Time purposes are forerunners who are called to be faithful witnesses of the truth. They will overthrow nations by prophesying, praying and doing acts of kindness.

  • The Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
  • Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you…”
  • The LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
  • I have this day set you over the nations…to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” (Jer. 1:7-10)

There is a terrible problem with picking and choosing the application of Scripture. This passage was said to Jeremiah alone, who was a prophet to the last days of Jerusalem under the Davidic line. This has never been applied to the Church, and was never intended to do so.

By selective application, Bickle and his consorts in the New Apostolic Reformation, build themselves up as something more than they are (or claim to be.) It will become more apparent as we progress through this eschatology that Bickle is setting up a kindgom against the Church, but calling people to activily overthrow kingdoms in order to prepare for a new Kingdom.

Please feel free to join in.

Paul Keith Davis: The Bible Lies, For God Told Me So

Category: Joel's ArmyPolycarp @ 9:51 pm

Do you ever wonder if people actually read the bible before they speak? Below is part 1 of a recent ‘word’ given by Paul Keith Davis concerning the Days of Noah (Genesis 6; Matthew 24.37-39).

Paul Keith DavisOn July 31, 2008 while in Red Deer, Alberta Canada for a conference, the Lord took me into a very interesting and enlightening revelatory experience. It was approximately 3 o’clock in the afternoon after spending considerable time in preparation for the evening service. My subject was one that I had been diligently studying for several months involving the Lord’s admonition saying:

“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”—Matthew 24:37-39

Nowhere else in this ‘word’ does Davis give us the passage relating to the Days of Noah. There is a reason, of course. First, in chapter 6, we find that the wickedness on Earth had grown so that only one family, Noah that those that carried his family name, found favor in the eyes of God. Further, there was no great world-wide revival on those days – as a matter of fact, God had withdrawn His spirit from the Earth. The Days of Noah was a wicked time, and no one was saved but that one family.

The Lord spoke to me clearly saying, “It would behoove you to understand as much as possible concerning the days of Noah; what overcame Noah’s day, your generation must overcome.” As a result of that charge I have been consumed with passion to fully understand Genesis 6 and its relationship to the days ahead.

While sitting on the couch in my hotel room in Red Deer, I was contemplating the Biblical implications of Genesis 6 in relationship to our day when suddenly I went into a revelatory encounter. I found myself in the Spirit standing in an evangelistic crusade being conducted on a football field. My first observation involved the people riveted to a message that was being preached from a podium on the field. I then clearly recognized the voice of the evangelist…it was the great Billy Graham preaching the Cross of Jesus Christ as only he could.

I was able to recognize the people’s attire resembled that from the 1960s. I could hear Dr. Graham presenting his anointed message from the four spiritual laws as complete silence filled the auditorium with the exception of his voice. Then I could hear the song “Just As I Am” being played as hundreds responded to his invitation and began quietly and orderly making their way to the altar.

Then a Voice spoke in the vision saying, “What is coming will not be like this!” With that statement I knew the coming revival would clearly have a strong evangelistic anointing like I heard from Dr. Graham, but also of a different nature that facilitated a compelling demonstration of the Spirit’s power producing reverential awe and conviction according to 1 Thessalonians 1:5 saying:

“For our Gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.”

Okay – but that is not the days of Noah. Remember, Christ said that we will enter into the Days of Noah before the Lord returns. Where in Genesis 6-7 do you see a revival? Or a demonstration of spirit and power? Further, what PKD does not say is that the exact opposite of his ‘dream’ is prophesied by the Apostle Paul:

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away (αποστασια – apostasy) comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 NKJV)

That which is restraining is the Spirit of God, but once God withdraws His Spirit, the Ruin will have it’s way and the only demonstration of power which remains is that caused by the lawless one. The vision here is in line with the Days of Noah, but the Dominionists preach otherwise.

With that statement I found myself standing in a large auditorium with a considerable altar area filled with the sick and afflicted on cots, gurneys and wheelchairs. To my amazement the entire altar was filled with the sick on a scale I have only seen in pictures from past revivals. To my right I noticed a man lying on a cot whose bones were twisted like pretzels. Further to the right, another man was seated in a wheelchair with his legs elevated and his feet curled under by a hideous bone disease. Beside him a man was lying on a gurney with a large tumor protruding from his abdomen.

I actually felt encouragement from this scene derived from the faith that permeated the atmosphere. These people were here because of the expectation and anticipation of God’s Presence to heal and deliver. Suddenly with that realization, the double doors of the sanctuary burst open and a family of approximately ten people came through the doors escorting what appeared to be a young teenage girl that was clearly demonized. I watched as she was screaming, cursing and throwing grown men around like rag dolls.

Then one of the men in the family spoke with a very demanding tone saying, “Somebody had better be here that can deal with this.” With that statement I could sense the family’s desperation for God’s intervention. They had tried every other alternative possible with no success. Only the power and authority of Christ could help this family.

As the family made their way up the aisle I walked towards them with the profound awareness that there was no time to call for a host of intercessors nor was there time to pray and fast. It was like a Mount Carmel showdown between light and darkness requiring that we call upon God’s grace and manifest Presence resident in us to meet this incredible need. I was immediately reminded of the Lord’s confrontation with the demoniac of Gadara. I was also thoroughly convinced that a mere spiritual gift, as wonderful as spiritual gifts may be, was not sufficient to overcome this level of darkness. It required Christ in me, the hope of glory.”

As I walked toward the family my spiritual eyes were opened in the experience and I could see an evil being occupying this young girl that seemed to be approximately 12 feet tall. It was then I remembered my study concerning Genesis 6 and the Lord’s admonition that the day of His coming would be just as it was in the days of Noah. I knew that I was dealing with a being in the spiritual realm that had its origin in Genesis 6. What overcame Noah’s day in the natural, we must overcome in the Spirit!

This goes directly to the Serpent Seed Doctrine of William Branham and the DNA that the New Apostolic Reformation speaks about. There is nothing in the Genesis account which indicates that Noah and his family fought the ‘giants.’

Suddenly, a realm of authority rose up within me that I knew transcended present understanding of spiritual authority. Out of my mouth the words, “Be gone,” proceeded with great power and authority. As quickly as the words were spoken the spirit left the young girl. Of course, I realize this was a teaching experience to illustrate the authority we must aspire to and demonstrate in this generation to meet the great demands and level of darkness that will define the final days before the Lord’s return. It is the realm of Christ’s authority that the Bride must come to know in fullness in order to gather the great harvest.

As soon as the evil being left the young girl, the entire family came under the spirit of conviction and gave their lives to the Lord. Then I heard the Voice speaking again saying, “What has previously been relegated to India and Africa is coming to America and somebody had better get authority with Me and in a hurry.”

Does God require us to have authority with Him?

I knew that I had seen a spiritual confrontation that is commonplace with ministry in Africa and India. Some form of restraining force has been removed from our country that has sheltered us from this realm and dimension of spiritual darkness on a broad basis. It has been seen in isolated areas and circumstance but not as widespread as we are about to witness. We must prepare now to meet this incredible challenge. This level of hostile opposition will require the Lord’s Bride to enter a level of maturity belonging to “the fullness of Christ” and absolute demonstration of the Lord’s victory over death, hell and the grave. The apostle Paul admonished us saying:

“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the Body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.—Ephesians 4:11-13

Not exactly sure what he means here, except that it seems he is speaking that the fullness of Christ means miraclous power. Instead, the flow of the Apostle’s thought indicates that the ‘mature man’ is the same as the measure of the sature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. The Mature Man is the Church, unified in the Faith. The article precedings ‘faith’ indicates that Faith means the ‘religion’ of the Church. So, what is the fullness of Christ? It is the doctrinal unity of the Church, growing into Christ.

I believe with that admonition we will also see greater expressions of the spirit of revival that will be of a different nature than outpourings of the past. We have been ardently contending for mantles of revelation and power that were demonstrated in prior generations to be mingled with the fresh and unprecedented. Even though the Lord promised Joshua that He would be with him as He was with Moses, the ministry of Joshua had little resemblance to that of Moses. Likewise, though we may carry the same spirit of revelation and power that rested upon prior champions, the model of ministry will be considerably different.

Again, compare the Days of Noah in both passages presented above and what PKD is teaching. Is their any similarity? Further, what is the ‘fresh and unprecedented,’ and does it fit with the Gospel? Just think about what he is telling you?

Interestingly, shortly after this experience Wanda and I had the privilege of ministering in a conference alongside Heidi Baker. I took the opportunity to convey this revelation to her and asked her to share some of the confrontations with deep realms of darkness that she has personally experienced as a missionary in Mozambique, Africa. Without a moment’s hesitation she recounted several encounters with evil beings and people given over to them that most Christians in the West couldn’t fathom nor are prepared to deal with.

Even so, the Lord is opening the door of opportunity for us to pay the price as the early apostles did in order to carry this level of spiritual authority and dominion. Clearly the Bible foretells this as part of the last day’s ministry. The book of Revelation outlines a period of time in which the enemy is cast down to the Earth with great wrath and anger. Likewise, at that time a voice will be heard in Heaven with a promise to the Lord’s people that:

“Now the salvation, and the power, and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the Blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.”—Revelation 12:10-11

It’s a dangerous thing to interpret Revelation in this way, especially this chapter.

This confrontation is imminent. Since I have been bringing this message we have already noticed numerous accounts in the US media of darkness and spiritual violence that is staggering to the imagination. The prophet clearly admonished us saying:

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”—Isaiah 60:1-3

Theresa Phillips: Urging of a Christian Revolution

Category: Joel's ArmyPolycarp @ 11:39 am

Is it me, or is it that since the election of President Obama the New Apostolic Reformation has become trigger happy?

Theresa Phillips, courtesy of the Elijah List, has given a ‘word’ which tells us that God is going to physically take over a earthly kingdoms.

Theresa PhillipsAdvance and Subdue Kingdoms

It is within the power of a King to set forth decrees and rule in the land and protect His subjects. The Government of this Kingdom is being loosed into the earth (tangibly) to move forth His realm. Revelation of a mighty Kingdom is being captivated by the hearts of man.

“For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”—1 Corinthians 4:20

“This Easter season will be like none other,” says the Lord. “I will have Me a people who will stand as a shield and become one. I will raise up a nation within a nation to advance and subdue kingdoms with My Kingdom, for My Kingdom is not of world but of power,” says the Lord.

“Keep your heart,” says the LORD. “Keep your heart! I am raising up men in the nations who will be the extension of My own Kingdom. They will not build their own kingdoms, but will build Mine. They will advance in ranks and power. This Kingdom will subdue many kingdoms and will not be silent.

It is always a season for them – always a seaon of change – but this season seems to start on Easter, in which God will suddenly decided to phyiscally take over the World, moving from His ‘Realm’ to gather another people. You notice how these false prophets always have God having to find something new? Another people, another seaon, another word.

Allow for the moment, that these people do not believe the Left Behind hype, but instead demand that the Church be in control of the planet before Christ comes back. Reread it if you have to. She is careful to point out that these new people will not be warriors by ambassadors.

Rebuild, Repair, Repent and Rejoice

He that has an ear LET HIM HEAR what the Spirit says to the churches. “Yes,” says the Lord, “I will have Me a people who will judge rightly and justly. I will have a people who will stand in the gap and rescue many who are fallen. The Tent of David has fallen and I have heard the cry and I will act,” says the Lord. Rebuild, repair, repent and rejoice, for I AM with you.”

Here’s the deal – she is referring to the prophecy of Amos in chapter 9 of his work, but James in Acts 15.16 says that the Tabernacle has already went back up. The Tabernacle is the Church. Did Christ lie in Matthew 16.18? Has the grave overtaken the Church?

Read the rest, if you want, and see what kind of lies are being told.

Defending Rick Joyner's Ability to Formulate Doctrine

Category: Rick Joyner, Todd BentleyPolycarp @ 3:51 pm

Rahab is a supporter of the New Apostolic Reformation, and a believer in Todd Bentley. I have recently encountered her and thought that I might share with you the utter depravity of those that continue to defend Rick and Todd.

She has previously stated:

There is a need to develop an accurate theology on divorce and remarriage, because the church doesn’t have one.

In the OT, there was no provision for adultery being an acceptable reason for divorce. Under the Law of Moses, it was a capital offense that mandated death for both offenders.

Under the Law of Moses, men were free to have as many wives as they wanted.

There is legitimate debate going on about the meaning of apoluo, translated put away, as opposed to apostasion, certificate of divorce. Jesus uses both terms in his discourses on divorce and they are not interchangeable.

In the OT, when a man divorced his wife, he then put her away from him, meaning she had to move out of house. The woman didn’t get the property. They were two separate steps. To use apoluo without apostasion means to throw her out without a certificate of divorce.

There is a need to develop an accurate understanding.

She has since (re-) posted an article on ‘Doctrine Police’, in what I assume is an attempt to defend Rick Joyner and Todd Bentley’s attempt to formulate doctrine or to deny it all together. In this article she quoted Ephesians,

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

The problem with that is that she was dishonest in her quotations,

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV)

I have covered this once before, so there is no need to go into the doctrine of divorce, or rather the ability to remarry. What Rahab is attempting to do is to provide a covering for those that seek to destroy the holiness of marriage and the doctrine already given by Jesus Christ and confirmed by the Apostles concerning divorce.

What Rahab did was to quote only a few parts of Scripture, but denied the the remaining part in which these offices were given to maintain doctrine – not create or formulate – for the Church so that there is a straight course. Of the issues with Dominionists is that they seek always bring something new, or something against the old; yet we are commanded to stay in the eternal paths because there is the good way.

Of course, her cheers speak a lot about her.

J. Lee Grady – Stop listening to 'Super Apostles' and the New Mystics

Category: Rick Joyner, Todd BentleyPolycarp @ 6:51 pm

Finally, it is coming to a head at the NAR. J. Lee Grady is now stating in no uncertain terms not to listen to the likes of Rick Joyner.

Something amazing happened to me last week during a ministry trip to Texas and Oklahoma. God sent three unexpected visitors over the course of four days to confirm something He is doing in the church today.

Last Thursday when I was speaking at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, my friend Sujo John called to say he wanted to drop by the campus and attend the conference with me. Sujo is a full-time evangelist who is originally from India. He surrendered to the ministry on Sept. 11, 2001, when he was buried under the rubble of the World Trade Center.

In this turbulent season when our movement is being shaken, refined and redefined, we must return to the simplicity of our mission to reach the lost all around us.”

On that horrific day as Sujo lay under the concrete and twisted metal, he wondered if he would live until nightfall. But that did not stop him from praying with about 20 people who were trapped with him. They all died before Sujo was rescued, but they stepped into eternity with faith in Christ as their Savior because Sujo led them in a sinner’s prayer. (Not to get into a theological debate here, but show me where the sinner’s prayer is?)
