While this post did not make me any friends, or others who posted it, I believe that in some way, it is reinforced by the Voice of the Martyrs who has asked for a civil voice in all things,

Last week, as the sniper shot rang out mortally wounding President Obama, the country woke up to the historical fact that idle words are indeed the devil’s playground. History will long note and judge those, who while the ambulance was attempting to carry the dying man to the nearest hospital, surrounded the vehicle, only to have the Secret Service fire into the crowd, wounding several, killing one. Some of the protesters stood idly by, crouched in prayer, not for the life of the man on the stretcher, but for the death. With angry shouts of ‘Death to the Muslim’ and ‘I want my country back’ ringing in his ear, the 44th President of the United States passed from this life.

At Dr. Robert Cargill’s prestigious blog, Chris Heard brought up the point about the SBL-Biblioblogger affiliation:
And a second, serious question: if Fred Phelps starts a blog, posts about the Bible, and pays SBL dues, he’s eligible to put the “Bilblioblog/SBL Affiliate” badge on his blog. Do you really want to grant academic legitimacy to Fred Phelps or any other dilettante who happens to pay SBL dues and slap a JPEG on his sidebar?
Unfortunately, I believe that Chris has some areas of concern. A few weeks ago, a crazy squirrel crashed a random photo and suddenly, he starting appearing everywhere. Remember Steven Anderson? He is adamant that everyone but the ‘Steve Andersons’ of the world are wicked. Well, MSNBC is now giving him air time, comparing him to congregations who are coming together during this tough time. Calling him an extremist does nothing but build his case. He is now on the internet screaming that the President is the Devil, of all things. This much hate from one man does nothing but destroy, himself and others. We know the evil of abortion, and we know the politics of it – but unlike this man, we should urge for a dialogue to end abortion without laws. (Tell me, when do laws prevent anything?) And frankly, I don’t have enough hate in me to ask God to first kill and then send that person to hell.
