Today is the first Sunday of Advent, 2009. Just a few more weeks until the happiest day on Earth – December 26th. I have started my Scrooginess already, and I expect everyone to stay out of my way
No lights, no St. Nick, no tree, nothing! And no, and I mean no, Tiny Tim.

Four more days until I leave for the land of good food. I cannot wait. I will have my son with me, and he is looking forward it.

Sunday Thoughts – 11/8
We got out of the house this morning and headed back to the park for our family devotional time. Spent a few minutes reading in the Indian Summer about pride.

Sunday Thoughts – 11/1
What a busy week! Mainly with my day job – office politics, meetings, budgets, etc… – and this next week is shaping up to be about the same. Of course, in one aspect, I have a bit of the upper hand. We will see if it works out that way.

Sunday Thoughts – 10/18
Jesus was not a white guy, or so I taught my children this morning, using the Mosaic’s theme of diversity. I have never had a problem with my children accepting diversity, but I found it funny that they assumed that Christ was white.

I had forgotten what it was like with a newborn in the house. I think she might have her nights and days mixed up. But, there are ways to fix that.

Sunday Thoughts – 9/27
It’s been a very busy day, but I managed to squeeze in a nap. It is nice autumnal weather, for now, a bit rainy, a bit cooler. Very nice. I love the seasonal changes here in West Virginia, as compared to Louisiana (where I grew up) we have actually have 4. I am not sure how it is where you live, but the mast for the woodland creatures are way down. Either we are going to have a bad winter or we are going to have a bad winter. Deer are starting to come down from the mountains, and from what I understand, so are the bears. They haven’t made it into the city – yet.

Sunday Thoughts – 9/20
What a busy week that I have had and I plan to have another one this week. We received some different news this week. My daughter has a small tumor on the back of her head – nothing serious the doctor said, and well, I am sure she is right, but it will be biopsied soon enough. Still worrisome though, to hear those words together. Then their is a small chance that the baby could be born with GBS disease. We are leaving everything in God’s hands.

Sunday Thoughts – 9/6
Another day at the park – nice weather, but I really don’t know what we are going to do when the weather turns nasty. We read something which I think is especially meaningful, given the conversations last night.
