Why the Fuss? The Tim Tebow Ad

Category: AbortionPolycarp @ 11:22 pm

Really? That was it? What – 30 seconds? Even NOW – the National Organization for Woman – did have a problem with it:

More on Focus on the Family and Tim Tebow

Category: AbortionPolycarp @ 3:49 pm

Yesterday, I posted on the Tim Tebow commercial  which will air during the Superbowl – and while I had no problems with it, I questioned the ability of the organization’s money management. A kind commenter pointed us towards a press release about the situation.

Tim Tebow Defends Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad under Fire

Category: AbortionPolycarp @ 7:57 pm

College football superstar Tim Tebow is standing fast behind a pro-life ad developed by Focus on the Family and set to air on CBS on Super Bowl Sunday. Although the ad has not been released, abortion advocacy groups are already demanding that it be scrapped, since it likely features the story of how Tebow’s mother chose life when doctors were urging her abort her now-famous son.

Sunday Thoughts – 2/1 SuperBowl Sunday

Category: DevotionalPolycarp @ 8:19 am

Is the game on yet? What game? Why are people going crazy over a little game that is supposed to be played this afternoon? Who’s playing? Steelers, I guess, and whoever is going to loose.

I wish people would get this excited over God and Church services. Okay, maybe not showing up to Church in groups, wearing body paint with signs of “John 3.16.” Of course, it would be nice to pull into the parking lot and see a few tailgaters who couldn’t wait until the doors opened so they camped out. Now, wouldn’t that be something to see…

We are heading to church service this morning and tonight and no will not have a tv in the fellowship hall to watch the Superbowl. Personally, I am not a big fan of the whole sporting thing – I like golf, soccer, and hockey, but I barely watch those for more than 5 minutes. I would rather be in church than at a sporting event.

Sunday is like the Superbowl of the week.

I hope that this day finds each of your well and in God’s presence. For me, we are getting ready to head out for our morning routine. While we are getting ready, we listen to Elvis Gospel, in the car it’s bluegree, and for a few minutes before service starts, it’s country gospel. Of course, we stop at McDonald’s for our normal breakfast – 8 hashbrowns, 1 sausage mcmuffin with cheese, 2 iced mochas (this morning it is nonfat), and 1 spirit. The drive-thru attendant remembers us now, and is sharing with us her life in the Lord. We’ll have to invite her to our tent revival this May.

Let’s keep Christ ahead of us today, and look only upon Him no matter the situation. I have found that by looking upon Him, I miss a lot of things that would otherwise pull me down. If I take my eyes off of Him, I see too much – but If I continue to look upon Him, then I see all that I need to see.

The song below is sung by the Isaacs – can you guess why I like it?

NBC Rejects Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad (with Video)

Category: Religion and Politics, Religious NewsPolycarp @ 8:23 pm

The pro-life community is up in arms over NBC’s decision to reject a pro-life Super Bowl ad depicting Obama as an unborn child while remaining open to a PETA Super Bowl ad as long as the clip’s racy scenes were edited.

The pro-life Catholic group, Fidelis, which runs CatholicVote.org, recently learned that their 41-second ad won’t be airing during NBC’s Super Bowl broadcast this Sunday.

The ad, which attempts to tag Obama as the new face for the pro-life movement, taps into his personal story of being raised by a single mother.

I understand that NBC has the right to restrict what is on it’s airwaves, but we have the right to restrict what is in our home. Perhaps NBC could stand to loose a few more million viewers.
