The United Nations and Internet Censorship
While the United Nations may serve for good purposes, overall, any government given power on any level will seek more power. The United Nations thinks itself a Government and is seeking power.

The Lucifer which is Christ
In a recent email exchange, I was hit with:
If you believe in Lucifer then the green movement is for you.
“No one will enter the NWO unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the new age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation.”

Am I now an international criminal? U.N. Council Adopts 'Defamation of Religions' Resolution
Remember, this resolution is aimed at protecting Islam. Does this now make those of us who question, and laugh at the path created in the mind of Muhammad, international criminals. Not yet, I am sure, but how close are we?
The U.N. Human Rights Council adopted a “defamation of religions” resolution on Thursday, ignoring a mass petition signed by over 180 non-government organizations from more than 50 different countries.
“Human rights protect people, not ideas,” responded L. Bennett Graham, Becket Fund representative to the U.N., in a statement after the resolution was passed. “The passage of this resolution by the Human Rights Council is a disaster for people of all faiths.”

A U.N. resolution seeks to criminalize opinions that differ with the Islamic faith
The Muslim religion makes unusually large claims for itself. All religions do this, of course, in that they claim to know and to be able to interpret the wishes of a supreme being. But Islam affirms itself as the last and final revelation of God’s word, the consummation of all the mere glimpses of the truth vouchsafed to all the foregoing faiths, available by way of the unimprovable, immaculate text of “the recitation,” or Quran.
If there sometimes seems to be something implicitly absolutist or even totalitarian in such a claim, it may result not from a fundamentalist reading of the holy book but from the religion itself. And it is the so-called mainstream Muslims, grouped in the Organization of the Islamic Conference, who are now demanding through the agency of the United Nations that Islam not only be allowed to make absolutist claims but that it also be officially shielded from any criticism of itself.

A new faith needed to unify humankind as we march into future
Barack Obama is now leader of the most influential nation on earth. Are we yet capable of dancing to his song of hope?
Obama was elected by default by a desperate nation drowning in faithlessness and cynicism. He was simply the best bet for change.
This bleak outlook is the chronic disease of our day. We are pessimistic about our economic and ecological futures. We distrust government officials, officers of the law, bureaucrats and the principles of big business (while we scramble to enhance our own bottom line.) We doubt the trustworthiness and ambitions of people of other colours and other religions. We have our phones and e-mails rigged to monitor the fidelity of our mates.
This post is for discussion. Don’t think for a minute that I agree with any of it.

Plight of Christians in Iraq
Frontpage Interview’s guest today is William J. Murray, the chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition in Washington, DC. During the early 1980’s, he served as director of Freedom’s Friends, an organization which reached out to the victims of communism worldwide. In the 1990’s, he founded the first commercial Bible publishing company in the Soviet Union. For many years his organizations operated evangelistic tours to the Soviet Union for Christians.
From his office in Washington, D.C., Mr. Murray continues to work for the rights of Christians in America and persecuted Christians around the world. Under his guidance, the Religious Freedom Coalition assists Palestinian Christian families and supports Christian schools in the West Bank. He also directs aid to Iraqi Christian refugees who have fled Islamic extremism.
William Murray has appeared on ABC, CBS and NBC nightly news as well as Nightline and various Fox News programs. He is a regular guest on numerous radio talk shows.

Christian Groups have hosted Ahmadinejad in America. Have we lost our minds?
Nice to have someone with some backbone out there. I have personally dealt, on the local level, with a few of the groups mentioned in this article, but it astounds me that they would go that far. I wonder what their members think…
I understand the biblical precepts of love your neighbor, but this neighbor happens to be the neighborhood bully with a love of nuclear weapons and murder. Love him from a distance, pray for him, but to honor him as a beloved friend? Hardly.
First is an article and then an editorial about the ‘dinner party’.
From the Article here.
NEW YORK, Sept. 22 (UPI) — A scheduled New York event meant to honor Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is “obscene,” Catholic League President Bill Donohue said Monday. The religious leader called on his supporters to attend a rally Monday night in New York aimed at disrupting Thursday’s Ramadan event, a Catholic League news release said.
“Catholics need to stand with their Jewish brothers and sisters in protesting this obscene event. Ahmadinejad is a menace to freedom-loving people the world over, and the sight of religious groups embracing him is nauseating,” Donohue said. “The Catholic League is proud to take part in this rally and we encourage people of all religious groups to have a contingent represent them on Thursday evening.”
The religious groups behind the honorary event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel are the Americans Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker United Nations Office, Religions for Peace and the World Council of Churches.
The rally was initially organized by Women International and the Jewish Action Alliance.

Evangelicals to UN: Indict Ahmadinejad
Evangelicals to UN: Indict Ahmadinejad | Iran news | Jerusalem Post.
A prominent Jerusalem-based evangelical organization will deliver a petition to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon this week signed by tens of thousands of Christians from around the world demanding that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad be indicted for incitement to genocide against Israel.
The petition, which was initiated by the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem and signed by more than 55,000 people from 128 countries, comes ahead of the Iranian leader’s planned visit to New York, where he is scheduled address the opening of the UN General Assembly next week.
“The silence of most Christian clergy in the face of Germany’s horrific bid to annihilate European Jewry left a deep stain on the churches. Yet from it has arisen a sense among multitudes of Christians today that we have an inescapable moral duty to earnestly speak out whenever another genocidal campaign threatens the Jewish people,” said Rev. Malcolm Hedding, the organization’s executive director.
“Unfortunately, we are concerned that just such a genocidal campaign is taking shape in the form of Iran’s repeated threats to eliminate the Jewish state, and its quest for nuclear means to carry out these threats,” Hedding said.
Ahmadinejad has repeatedly called to “wipe Israel off the map” and has dismissed the Holocaust as a “myth.”
The petition, titled ‘Stop a Nuclear Iran,’ states that the Iranian threats against Israel constitute a “clear violation” of the UN Charter, and the international convention for preventing and punishing the crime of genocide.
It also expresses “extreme disappointment” at the “resounding” failure of the UN and its organs to take any serious measures to redress the Islamic Republic’s “hostile campaign of public incitement to genocide.”
“This campaign not only endangers Israel, but is also a threat to the peace and security of the world community,” the petition reads.
Hedding also blasted leaders in the Mennonite and Quaker movements that will be hosting Ahmadinejad at a “dialogue” reception during his US visit, saying that would be eternally associated with appeasement to wickedness.
“The Bible nowhere advocates this type of engagement and in facts warns against it,” Hedding said. “Jesus did not talk with Herod because he represented a system that was corrupt and evil.”
“These Christian leaders will forever be associated with the appeasement of wickedness.”
