Unlike any human religious leader in history, Jesus Christ performed unique miracles that reveal His divine identity as Creator, and He often appealed to His miracles as evidence He was the Messiah and Son of God. Evolution also requires naturalistic ‘miracles’ that defy basic scientific laws, but there is no naturalistic mechanism for them to occur, so evolution is self-refuting. For more see Miracles of God, Evolution or False Prophets? which connects some important concepts together that are often overlooked.

Some one recently pointed out that no one else has successfully managed to walk on water, although a disciple tried, and a few others “parted” the seas.. Why?
Job 9:8 he alone spreads out the heavens,
and treads on the waves of the sea;
Only God can “march forth on the waves of the seas”.

Rory, I am unsure how miracles performed by Christ figures into the discussion on Creationism.

– CENTENARIANS are the fastest-growing age segment in Australia, with their numbers increasing by 10 per cent a year. Researchers say the centenarian population will quadruple in the next decade, with an increase in the number of Australians aged between 105 and 110.
Australians are enjoying greater health and well-being into their 10th decade as researchers pinpoint the secrets to longevity and long-term wellness. Robyn Richmond, of the University of NSW School of Public Health and Community Medicine, said her study of 190 centenarians suggested longevity was more about personality than genes. “A strong social system is terribly conducive to a long life, as are spirituality and maintaining a healthy weight,” she said. “Centenarians are shining beacons for a positive life” –

From today's Sunday newspaper in Sydney. What would you suggest that this confirmed increased life expectancy is an example of?

Hi Joel, I suspect I don't understand your comment. The miracles of Christ show His unique power over creation since they overrule known scientific laws, and reveal Him as Creator.

What “naturalistic ‘miracles’ that defy basic scientific laws” are required for evolution?

I read your article but think it's a bit of a false dilemma. You present creationism and evolution as the only two options, when in fact, there are at least two, possibly three other options: theistic evolution, evolutionary creationism, and intelligent design. And when you refer to creationism, are you talking YEC or OEC?

The dilemma I present is a true one, since there is a conscious, personal and intelligent Creator or there isn't. The 'mixed models' of theistic evolution and evolutionary creationism, as well as 'impersonal' intelligent design don't always attempt to answer that question head on. I wasn't dealing with YEC/OEC considerations in the article, since the primary issue is whether there is a Creator or not, not how old things are.

P.S. I tried Googling the specific term “creation evolution” and received:
“About 230,000 results (0.36 seconds)”
… so it seems this basic dichotomy is widely perceived and acknowledged.
