Edmond Kwan has been a commenter, although not all that good, at this post here, claiming all sorts of false doctrines.

Edmond has started something called ‘Holy Spirit Workshop’ which essentially advocates a pay as you go type of gospel. It is open 9-5 with a paid ‘pastor’. Not that this is not enough to label the man false, but he promotes a doctrine in which he proclaims himself a follower of Christ’s original intentions, in that supposedly, Christ had told the Apostles to meet Him at Galilee at the Mount of Transfiguration, and that it was at Galilee that the Church was supposed to established.

His niece has written a book which proclaims,

All believers and disciples of Jesus Christ are under the New Covenant. We are the beneficiaries of the Covenant for the Forgiveness of Sin when we repent and believe in the Name of Jesus, the Son of God. Therefore, the only body of law we are to obey fully is the Law of Jesus, which is comprised of the commands, regulations and decrees directly spoken by Jesus as is written and recorded in the four gospels, Acts 1 and the book of Revelation.

And,

This book Jesus Law! is written for the church of Jesus Christ to bring her into correction by restoring the Father’s command to disciples to listen to Jesus, and Jesus’ command to the church to hear and understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to them, so that those whose hearts are opened and have ears to listen may learn to prepare the Body of Christ for Jesus’ soon arrival and His coronation in Jerusalem as King on Earth.

First, we note that the Kwans remove the entire Pauline Corpus and the catholic Epistles. They base this removal, I imagine, on the idea that the Apostles were unworthy to have written the foundation of the Church. (Edmond has informed me that his removal of James is because the Apostle addressed it to the Twelve Tribes. I have to wonder then how he even has the Old Testament.) In her first chapter, she asks,

Have the churches confused themselves with synagogues? Why is the Law of Moses preached in churches? Why are the flocks fed teachings that consist of parts of the Levitical Law, mixed in with a few verses of Paul’s teachings, and one or two lines of the commands of Jesus Christ? Should Scriptures be used to support the requirement of tithing? Does this fulfil the standard to which we are called by our Heavenly Father to listen to Jesus? Did God the Father command us to listen to Paul, Moses, James, or the man speaking under the spotlight at the pulpit?

In Matthew, we read,

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19 NKJV)

Further, in John,

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” (John 20:22-23 NKJV)

Using Kwan’s heretical arguments, Christ dismisses the argument that the Pauline Corpus is to be dismissed. We find, after Christ’s post resurrection appearance, that Christ gives the power to the Church, through the Apostles, to bring the gospel and the forgiveness of sins to the world. I will not look too much into the book, as it is worthless to fill your eyes with such garbage.

The ‘Holy Spirit Workshop‘ (note, Edmond has recently made a distinction between ‘spirit’ and ‘ghost’; Pnuema is Greek for both) is not a ‘new movement’, it proclaims, but one which

It is a workshop because what needs repair is the body of Christ.

Like others, Kwan feels that it is his mission to ‘repair’ something already perfect. I would like to say that I am making the next part up, but on his website, you will see his version of the FAQ’s. The first two are,

What is a Holy Spirit’s Workshop [HSW]?

It is not a church, but an adjunct to the church, in the same way as a car dealership has a showroom and a service depot, so the HSW is like the service department of the church.

How is it different?

HSWs are open Monday to Friday during business hours for dispensing salvation, healing and deliverance through the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that those in need on that day do not have to wait for the church to open or a crusade to come before they are ministered to. Those who are healed or delivered are then referred back to their local church. Those who are saved or do not have a local church are then kept by the pastor running the HSW and added to his church.

That’s right, Monday through Friday. I guess God takes a rest on Saturday and Sunday now. Of course, he is right – the HSW does act like a car dealership – a used one.

On another part of the site you will read,

So why has the church not listened to and followed the words of Jesus exclusively?  Why is the church still following parts of the Old Covenant given to the Israelites through Moses?  Or mixing it with the teachings of the Apostles, which at times conflict with the words of Jesus?  (E.g. Compare Acts 15:19-20 with Mark 7:18-19)  It is because this command, as small as it is, was lost to the disciples and therefore, lost to the church.  Perhaps if the command were a few pages long, we would have noticed it and followed it…  When praying to the Father just before His trial and crucifixion, Jesus said, “For I gave them the words You gave Me and they accepted them.   They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.”  So the disciples did receive Jesus’ words, but appear to forget the Father’s only command to them.

Again, we return to John and Matthew which gave the Apostles authority to bring the gospel and to establish doctrine.

One of the first things that struck me about Kwan’s false doctrine was his insistence that the Apostles had disobeyed Christ about returning to Galilee the morning of the Resurrection. (I would encourage you to read all the comments that he has posted.) Let’s examine this for a minute,

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, “Tell them, “His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. (Matthew 28:10-16 NKJV)

First is the command issues. Second, the women leave to tell the disciples. Third, the command was followed.

One commentator here says,

The brethren here meant must have been His brethren after the flesh (compare Matthew 13:55); for His brethren in the higher sense (see on John 20:17) had several meetings with Him at Jerusalem before He went to Galilee, which they would have missed if they had been the persons ordered to Galilee to meet Him.

Starting in John 21.1 we see the Apostles waiting in Galilee when Peter decides to go fishing. If we return to Matthew, we know that the Apostles did indeed meet Christ in Galilee where they were given the great commission to go make disciples of all nations.

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:16-20 NKJV)

It is assumed that (the longer ending of) Mark 16.14 occurred at the same place.

We turn to look at Luke in which we the absence of the command (although it may be that the ‘command’ of Matthew 26.32 and Mark 14.28 is merely a direction as opposed to a direct command), but we see that Christ encounters two disciples, one named Cleopas, walking towards Emmaus. Luke, who was a companion of Paul (whom the Kwan’s had dismissed in their false doctrine), does not mention the other’s name but does, as he did in Acts, gives us the importance of Jerusalem,

Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:46-47 NKJV)

Edmond Kwan has stated that the Church should be launched from Galilee, yet Christ disagreed. Again, in Acts, we read,

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8 NKJV)

Edmond says,

The “Church’ was launched with apostles who were at best his friends..but no brother of His went to gallilee that morning. the Church that was meant top have been launched by his brothers was still birthed… and all thses things that concern the ‘church’ are merely rumblings of the resurrection of that still born church that should have been launched from gallilee and not from jerusalem

We have proved all of this false, and any doctrine built upon this foundation is as rotten as the core. But, for one final nail on the false prophet known at Edmond Kwan, just who do you suppose Christ was speaking to when He uttered the above just before He ascended?

who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11 NKJV)

Yes, men of Galilee. In Luke, we find Christ led His disciples to Bethany – possibly from Galilee, hence the phrase ‘Men of Galilee’. Finally, we find Luke, detailing Paul’s sermon, saying

He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. (Acts 13:31 NKJV)

The biblical fact remains, when Christ said to go to Galilee, the Apostles listened; when He said to go to Jerusalem, the Apostles listened. Edmond Kwan preaches a a doctrine which sets himself up as a restorer of obedience to Christ, but fails remarkably well when it comes to actually listening to Christ.

Concerning Muslims, he says,

I suggest you read the four gospel and harmonise their time sequence of events and you might see..why the church as it is, Mystery,babylon the Great, Mother of prostitutes..and the prophet rught when he said ..Isa bin Maryam will return to correct the church of all it’s errors and save the muslims from the antichrist.

And,

The muslims are not lost, because Jesus died for them, not you and even when we fail to reach them with the truth, God does so through visions and dreams revealing Jesus to them, like he did me

First, the phrase ‘Isa bin Maryam’ is an Islamic title for their ‘Jesus.’ Second, as we have demonstrated, the Church launched from Jerusalem is the correct and proper church, over that of the false abomination of the Kwan’s. Third, no prophet said anything about Christ returning to correct the Church or that Christ will return to save the Muslims from the fabled antichrist. The only person that spoke about a Jesus returning to defeat the ‘antichrist’ was Muhammad, the false prophet of Islam.

Christ expressly states that He is coming back after His Church,

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” (John 14:1-4 NKJV)

Paul, in the book of Acts, states,

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:28 NKJV)

Further we told numerous times in the Revelation that only those that written in the Book of Life, His Saints, that have worshiped only Him, will be among that number. Kwan, like others, can offer nothing of a scriptural foundation for his insistence of the salvation of the Muslims. Granted, if an a person of the Islamic faith repents and converts then, yes, he or she will be included in that number.

Christ did not come for a universalistic salvation, but to establish a Church (Matthew 16.18), and dying for it, calls all of humanity into it. The teaching of Kwan would have us call Christ a failure and a liar, placing Edmond as the church builder.

There is ignorance of the bible and then their is purposed stupidity. For this reason, Edmond Kwan has earned a place as an identifiable False Prophet. He is no ‘footstool of Jesus Christ’ but needs to repent as His feet.

Let me close with this,

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9 NKJV)

There is no new gospel, no new revelation.
