IHOP to IHOP – You make us look bad

Mike Bickle’s IHOP is being sued by the more famous IHOP – the International House of Pancakes. This is just an awesome day
IHOP (pancake), based in Glendale, Calif., has sued IHOP (prayer), based in Kansas City, for trademark dilution and infringement. The lawsuit, filed last week in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, essentially said there was room for only one IHOP and that would be the restaurant chain that has been using the initials since 1973.
The religious group drawing thousands from around the world to south Kansas City to prepare for “end times” was started just 10 years ago.

[T]the chain, which has 1,476 restaurants across the country, claims it has six registered trademarks with the IHOP acronym and that the religious group’s use of the same four-letter logo causes, according to the lawsuit, “great and irreparable injury and confuses the public.”
The lawsuit further accuses the church mission of adopting the name International House of Prayer knowing it would be abbreviated IHOP — the intent being to misappropriate fame and notoriety of the food chain.
On Tuesday, IHOP (pancake) spokesman Patrick Lenow said the suit was filed only after the church mission refused repeated requests to stop using the trademark.
Maybe, as part of the deal, IHOP (False Prophet) will agree to shut down completely…

Janet Porter, Dominionist – Discernment Ministries are ‘Cultural Nazis’

Porter has dedicated her entire column to attacking Discernment Ministries as a bunch of “cultural Nazi’s” who want to see hymns “re-written to praise Barack Hussain Obama”:
We now have two generations who are lost in the lies of humanism, evolution and homosexuality, facilitated into fornication and abortion, trapped in pornography and devastated by divorce. Congratulations.
If you’re still having a hard time discerning what to do, here’s a helpful hint: if you find yourself on the same side as the ACLU, homosexual activists, the baby killers and the enemies of God, chances are, you’re on the wrong side.
Considering that Leslie was the head of Iowa Right to Life in the 1980s, Porter’s attacks ring hollow, as does her claim that neither she nor her allies “support a ‘dominion theology’ that seeks to establish a theocracy,” especially given that the 7 Mountains Theology under which she organized her May Day 2010 rally has this as its goal:
A government can potentially function as a virtual theocracy, but only as the individuals in power allow themselves to be puppets (i.e. servants) of the theocracy (God’s rule and reign). The goal is to bring the influence of heaven to bear on whatever political machinery that exists … One of the primary roles of future government leaders will be to instruct in righteousness. The more God’s judgments are poured out on earth, the more explicitly will they be able to give that instruction.
Remember, Dominionists are intent on establishing a theocratic government, seeing this is necessary to bring Christ back.
Lou Engle’s The Call Going To Uganda in 2010

I attended the International Call Summit, October 28 -30 hosted by Lou Engle and Stacey Campbell. Over 20 participants for other nations were gathered who are interested in holding a Call in their nation. This summit was very informative as we were filled with the DNA of the CALL and encouraged to follow through with what God has placed on our heart. On October 30th I flew to Chicago to attend the last two days of Pastor John Mulinde’s prayer summit. We met on Saturday to discuss in more detail and make preparations for the CALL Uganda to be held May 29, 2010. I will arrive in Uganda on January 6 and will be living in Uganda to partner with Pastor John Mulinde as we prepare and mobilize this Sacred Assembly, similar to the one described in Joel 2. I ask you to keep theCall Uganda and our team in prayer and if possible to fast one day a week or month, along with us, in preparation for the Call Uganda on May 29, 2010.

Prayer Warriors of the New Apostolic Reformation Getting Some Exposure

Haven’t really covered this in a while, but here you go:
Yesterday Alternet published an article by Bill Berkowitz including an interview with me about the New Apostolic Reformation, or the “largest religious movement you never heard of.” Despite the growing political clout of its leadership, the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) continues to operate under the radar of the mainstream press as well as most progressive media. Hopefully this interview will prove to be another stepping stone in making the movement more recognizable to the public.

There Will Be Blood…if the Domionists have their way

There is always a fair amount of spin on groups and people like this, but he does stand squarely in the dominionist camp –

Warren’s P.E.A.C.E. Plan and Wagner’s Dominionism

This is sort of an answer to someone about Rick Warren’s involvement with Dominionism which is currently being led by C. Peter Wagner:
C. Peter Wagner yet again – Bruce Wilson finds an interesting quote from Wagner’s 2008 book Dominion! How Kingdom Action Can Change the World, in which he discusses Rick Warren’s “P.E.A.C.E.” Plan, which seeks to improve conditions in Africa (p. 174):
I think the P.E.A.C.E. plan fits most comfortably into Phase One, the “social action” phase of strategies for obeying God’s cultural mandate. The Phase Two emphases on strategic-level spiritual warfare and associated activities have not been placed front and center. And crucial to Phase Three, as I am defining it, are such things as apostolic/prophetic government of the Church, the Church (including apostles) in the workplace, the great transfer of wealth, dominion theology and the 7-M mandate.

How odd that the leading voice of Dominionism, C. Peter Wagner, and the leading Evangelical voice, Rick Warren, are connected? What? Know ye not that Wagner was Warren’s doctrinal adviser?
