Uganda’s Anti-Gay Bill Will Reach Across International Borders

I’ve been watching this for a while, and this new news worries me greatly. If this bill passes in Uganda, it will require (although the allowance thereof would be decided by other nations) that Ugandans who commit homosexual acts in another country to be extradited.

Frank Schaeffer is the son of Francis Schaeffer, a big name in the Religious Right – before Dobson, Falwell, and others. We are on the precipice of watching Uganda, which is currently governed by a man well-connected to the Religious Right in this country, pass a bill which would make homosexuality a crime, and a possible capital offense. They are going to kill homosexuals and those who know of homosexuals will end up in prison, for now.

As you read this, no doubt some will say that I am looking at this wrong, or that perhaps its a worldview problem, etc… but I have stated the issue. Research if you must further.
Uganda already punished gay intimacy with life in prison. But, apparently that was not harsh enough, with this bill penalizing anyone who “attempts to commit the offence” with up to seven years in jail. Additionally, a person charged will be forced to undergo an invasive medical examination to determine their HIV status. If the detainees are found to be HIV+, they may be executed.
