Don’t Forget your Favorite Bibliobloggers on Cyber-Monday

This is a repost, but since the Monday after Black Friday is usually the day for cyber deals, or Cyber Monday, I thought that I would repost it.
I love to buy Southern Gospel songs from James McGrath’s Amazon Store. I don’t know why, but it makes me smile.
Sure, sometimes I cheat on Jeremy’s store and go with McGrath’s for books (but I promise, Jeremy, it is only by accident), but I need to also spend some money at Jason’s and T.C.’s and maybe even Fr. Stephen‘s. And don’t forget about Jeff. And have you heard about Chris’? And the other Chris (Brady)?
Why? Because bloggers with stores get some commission money when someone buys something from their store. This helps with self-education or buying things for others, etc… So, as the holidays approach , and you go to Amazon for your shopping pleasure, be kind and visit Amazon through one of these stores, or mine which is on the right side bar. Go through one of these stores and anything you buy will route some spending cash from Amazon to your favorite biblioblogger’s pocket.
Now, ask yourself – if you have to spend money at Amazon, why not do it in such a way as to help out bibliobloggers?
Greaves under Police Protection – Says Fondling, Kissing a-okay!
Posted by Joel in Religious News on November 12, 2010
It only gets worse with this man, and for all of those supporting him, read his words – he is disgusting. I can understand the death threats, although I do not support them –
Police are aware of at least one threat against Phillip R. Greaves II that was posted on-line after the story about his book aired Wednesday.
….
Greaves says the response to his book is a “knee-jerk reaction” to its title by people who have not read it. But also says he’s learned controversy sells books: prior to Wednesday, he’d sold one copy. After the story hit national news, CBS News reported he sold more than 3,000.
Greaves said he’s not a pedophile, and he added, “The word ‘pedophile,’ I believe, means somebody who loves children, OK? And you’re not somebody who loves children if you’re raping and murdering and killing them.” He also says, “Anything such as kissing, fondling, that sort of thing I don’t think is that serious of a problem.”
…..
Greaves says he published the book to address what he considers unfair portrayals of pedophiles in the media. He says “true pedophiles love children and would never hurt them.”

One word if it does: Boycott
Greaves, a 47-year-old retired nurse’s aide in Pueblo, Colo., said Thursday that nearly 300 copies of his self-published e-book were sold on Amazon.com’s Kindle Store in the past day, prior to its disappearance from the site. He said he also received more than 3,000 complaints about the $4.79 e-book, which seeks to make “pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them,” according to the product description that was posted while the book was available for sale.
Greaves, in an interview with FoxNews.com on Thursday, said he does not promote pedophilia, but that it “is something that I have sympathy for because of my own childhood.”
He said he was exposed to sex when he was 7 years old. “I was not molested, but I was exposed to sex at an early age … Sometimes those relationships are positive. No, I do not advocate pedophilia. I just feel that I understand it.”
And, if you read the FoxNews link below, online retailers supposedly have more pro-pedophilia books, including this one:
Joseph explains why every normal being should proudly be a pedophile-yes, proudly. Along with the Torah and kabalistic insights, The ‘Pedophile’ Sham is the only source of enlightenment that establishes new definitions for the entire family. “Pedophilia is a word that has been misused,” says Joseph. “A pedophile is good, whereas the true culprit name ‘pedosexual’ has been uncovered. We do not call a homosexual a homophile. We should not call a pedosexual a pedophile.” The ‘Pedophile’ Sham is filled with many more striking insights on the nature of humanity, and is a must-read for adolescents, parents, teachers, and authorities alike.
Depravity.

Amazon Surrenders, Pulls Pro-Pedophile Book
Posted by Joel in Religious News on November 11, 2010
After previously denying that they would, sometime last night, Amazon.com decided to pull Phillip R. Greaves II‘s book which was a pro-pedophilia work, or as he says, pedosexual.
An e-book for sale on Amazon.com entitled “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure,” was apparently pulled by the online retailer late Wednesday after shocked consumers across the nation called for a boycott.
There is no liberty worth having which would allow something like this.

Have you been following this story? So a self-styled ‘pedosexual’ who is promoting pedophilia has a self-published ebook available on Amazon. And Amazon.com is defending the selling of it!
“Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable,” the company said in a written statement. “Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions.”

Has Amazon.com lost its mind? The Pedophile’s Guide?

Really? This is really free speech?
Amazon is selling a self-published book defending pedophiles, sparking discussions about the retailer’s obligation to vet items before they are sold in its online stores, and threats of boycott from Amazon customers if the book is not removed.
The book, ” The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover’s Code of Conduct” by Philip R. Greaves II, offers advice to pedophiles afraid of becoming the center of retaliation. It is an electronic book available for Amazon.com Inc.’s Kindle e-reader.
The author’s grammatically-incorrect description reads:
“This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught.”
No, this is disgusting and Amazon.com should pull it from the shelves now. Well, the proverbial shelves, but you know what I mean.
