In 1657, the Quakers arrived. Williams despised them, but opened the colony to them nonetheless. In the last years of his life, Williams happily rowed 30 miles from Providence to Newport for the express purpose of arguing with the Quakers. For Williams, liberty of conscience did not mean tolerance, agreement or even admiration; it meant mutual respect — respect deep and appreciative enough to encompass debate and disagreement.

The Muslims who dream of Jesus

Some Muslims dream about Jesus, apparently.
It was over our last couple of meetings that he told me many Muslims, including himself, have dreams about Jesus Christ. When we think of Islam, we often think of their Prophet Mohammed, but do not realise that Jesus is considered to them a great prophet and the end of times judge of all people.
I was startled that M had dreams that Jesus walked across water to him, and thanked him for helping people in the community. The same week I heard that story, my friend Mark who was in the article I wrote on premonitions gave me a dvd which is full of testimonies of Muslims who are having similar dreams of Jesus revealing himself to them in many ways, including announcing to them that He is the son of God and saviour.
US Muslim group: Muslims must rally to counter radicalization
A lot of people, when hit with the statement that no all Muslims are radical fundamentalists, hit back with
“Yeah, well were are the groups who should be speaking out against the Islamic Terrorists!?!?!?!”
Well, here you go.
In light of a string of counterterror cases involving young radicalized Americans, a leading Muslim group said Friday that Muslim Americans should be more actively involved in rooting out extremism in their midst.
